AN INTELLIGENT MANAGEMENT OF WASTE CREATES PROFIT..

Nell’ambito del progetto Comenius ci siamo interessati alla tutela dell’ambiente. Il nostro interesse riguardava soprattutto i risvolti occupazionali che può determinare un’attività economica volta al riciclaggio dei rifiuti derivanti dalla raccolta differenziata. A questo proposito ci siamo recati in visita aziendale presso la TEOREMA, un’azienda che si occupa di stoccaggio di rifiuti quali carta, plastica, vetro, per il trattamento di rifiuti pericolosi quali batterie esauste, che contengono piombo, amianto e fanghi industriali. Abbiamo incontrato l’addetto alle pubbliche relazioni, sig. CARETTA e il manager sig. COLAFEMMINA a cui abbiamo rivolto alcune domande.
In occasion of our Comenius Project we dealt with environment protection. Our interest focused, above all, on the job consequences that can be produced by an economic activity directed to the recycling of waste coming from separate collection. To this purpose we visited the firm “ TEOREMA”, a firm dealing with the stocking of waste such as paper, plastic, glass and with the processing of dangerous waste such as exhausted batteries containing lead, asbestos and industrial muds. We met the responsible for public relations, Mr. Cardetta and the manager Mr. Colafemmina whom we asked some questions.

1. Come nasce questa azienda? Perché si chiama T.E.O.R.E.M.A.?

T.E.O.R.E.M.A. nasce nel 1983 inizialmente come azienda di trasporto di rifiuti; questi venivano portati in discariche (grosse buche protette). In seguito l’azienda si specializzò nello stoccaggio provvisorio. Il nome T.E.O.R.E.M.A. è l’acronimo di: T= trasporto E= ecologia O= opere R= recupero E= energetico M= manutenzione A= ambiente

1- How was this company born? Why is it called T.E.O.R.E.M.A.?

TEOREMA was born in 1983, at first as waste transport company, this waste was brought into landfill sites (large protected holes). Later the company specialised in the temporary stock. TEOREMA is acronym of: T= Trasporto – Transport E= Ecologia – Ecology O= Opere – Works R= Recupero – Recovery E= Energetico – Energetic M= Manutenzione – Maintenance A= Ambiente – Environment

2. Di che cosa si occupa?
L’azienda T.E.O.R.E.M.A. si occupa dello smaltimento e del trattamento dei rifiuti. I rifiuti sono selezionati in: – rifiuti urbani (carta, vetro, plastica e alluminio) – rifiuti speciali pericolosi (es. amianto) – rifiuti speciali non pericolosi (es. batterie d’auto, pile) – rifiuti radioattivi o esplosivi.
